It is a pleasure to be welcomed as the new 2026-2028 Town Committee Chair for the Pee Dee! Six counties make up the Pee Dee Town Committee. Florence is considered the hub, but many of our 54 members live in the surrounding counties. We host meetings in Darlington, Bennettsville, Cheraw, Effingham and Manning in addition to Florence. We especially enjoy our annual picnics in May, usually outside on land that has been in a member’s family for many years.

I want to thank the Ashley Lucas and her Board for their work. We will continue to move forward with the progress that has been made during their years of service.

We are zealous about our heritage, our nation, our land, and the preservation of our history and culture for future generations. As a scholarship sponsor for the Colonial Charleston Teacher’s Institute, we’re following our mission to spread the word about our history to current students. We are grateful to our military families and show our support for Veterans in our state and community by enthusiastically contributing to the America’s Vet Dog Program, the Veteran’s History Project and Veteran’s Day events.
